Hi everyone,

How many people live in Scotland, and would be interested to meet up and form a new group up here. Depending on how far we all live apart it could maybe be a regular thing. Lorna Smile

Hi Sylvia,

I live in Fife about an hour or so from you. We could possibly meet for the afternoon if you liked sometime. Lorna Smile

hi girls, I'm in Edinburgh and I'm keen to get a group going here allthough the journey to ardrossan is a fair trek even with a car. There is an nras group in fife though, they had a meeting in Dunfermline last year that I went along to and everyone was really nice- I have the details in a folder somewhere, I'll find them tomorrow and put them up on here.ThumpUp

Hope you don't mind me butting in, but you could do what Jean and I do and meet half way.

I'm in Durham, but used to live in Edinburgh (for 10 years) so could always manage to get myself up there for a meet up!

Its a 3 hour drive, but my parents are half way, so I could stop for a break. Or, its 2.5 hours on the train.

Hey Lorna

What are you like at organising hotels etc.? We could get together a really good weekend in Edinburgh and it has a couple of Hilton hotels which are always good for amenities, disabled access etc. Although quite a way north, Edinburgh is very accessible by train both on the West coast mainline and up the East coast too for anyone not wishing to drive. We could do it on the same lines as our Leicester 'meet up' with those who want to arrive Friday, or before, being joined on the Saturday by those who want to come along for the day/ or stay for the Saturday night only.

Ann (Monty) got a good deal on rooms with breakfast included (£55 per night) and organised a buffet style lunch for the Saturday, £15 each. We left around lunch time on the Sunday but it was a brilliant weekend and great to put faces to names. We would need a minimum number of guests to get good rates. Perhaps November might be a good time before Christmas shopping starts in earnest, November 12th or 19th?

Any thoughts? Anyone interested?

Lyn x

P.S. Sorry Lorna I do realise this isn't helping to get your group started but it might be a move in the right direction!

personally, I couldn't do those dates.

I'd probably stay at a friend's house if I were going as I used to live there.

Edinburgh is great for hotels and eating out.
